Overview

The Strategic Agricultural Crops Development Company

The Strategic Agricultural Crops Development Company (DCAS) is a joint-stock company under state ownership, created as part of the restructuring of the Agricultural Products Valorization Group (GVAPRO).

This structural transformation is part of the national strategy aimed at strengthening Algeria’s food security and agricultural sovereignty.

The creation of DCAS follows the decisions adopted during the Council of Ministers meeting of February 18, 2024, aimed at modernizing the management of former pilot farms and orienting them toward the production of strategic agricultural crops.

Within this framework, pilot farms were transformed into Agricultural Production Units (APU) specializing in the development of priority agricultural sectors.
